As Eat, Pray, Love opens in theaters today, I am asking Christian viewers to pause to consider the content and test it against their Christian faith. Are the ideas and philosophies consistent with scriptural teachings? Is the movie focused on prayer to the God of our Christian faith?
Is it simply a form of entertainment with a delightful, award-winning superstar, based on the life of a charming best-selling author with a sense of adventure?
Or are there ideas of mysticism, other religions and seeds of doubt placed before your eyes which could ultimately lead you off the path God intends for you?
I simply ask that you prayerfully consider the content of this movie.
Perhaps by following my blog, you may take pause to consider your beliefs and apply them to your life and your dreams in a meaningful way.
I am praying you will hunger for the truth and the real love Jesus Christ offers freely to you.
I am hoping you will find truth in my book Eat, Love, Praise Him.
I am posting a press release hoping to claim the victory and find a publisher for my book in the very near future. Whether it is ever published or not, matters not, for He has already claimed the victory for all of us. He knows the truth and sees the truth. He is the father of all truth. I hope this movie and my book give you cause to poke around at your own beliefs and wake up into the fullness of His love.

Is EAT PRAY LOVE Leading Women down the Wrong Road?
(June 1, 2010) – Elizabeth Gilbert’s life reads like romantic fiction in her sweeping travelogue EAT PRAY LOVE. Her soul-searching following a difficult divorce takes her to Italy, India and Indonesia. These exotic lands beckon and ultimately do not disappoint the reader hungry for all the juicy details of Gilbert’s quest for self-discovery as the bestselling memoir continues to captivate women for three years and 5 million books later. The feature film starring Julia Roberts will likely only add to the juggernaut that is EAT PRAY LOVE. But will women find truth as they travel Gilbert’s trail of adventure and appetite?
JACKIE ARNOLD was captivated by Gilbert after seeing her interviewed on Oprah and dove eagerly into the book while facing many personal challenges in her own life. But as she read she grew increasingly concerned that younger women especially would be placing themselves in spiritual peril if they follow the path Gilbert lays out. Easy compromise on essentials while claiming God-centered faith is the central problem of EAT PRAY LOVE. But there are so many other confusing directions pursued by Gilbert that Arnold felt compelled to answer. The result is Arnold’s journey into the heart of truth, EAT LOVE PRAISE HIM, Unpacking your Dreams on a Journey of Faith.
Presented in lilting prose, Arnold defends the faith with all the joy of savoring great food and travel found in EAT PRAY LOVE, while also inviting women on a pilgrimage to truth. Arnold is uniquely positioned to pen EAT LOVE PRAISE HIM. Her passion for travel has taken Jackie to over 30 countries and as she invites women to travel with her on the journey within, they will find real satisfaction for the hunger only God can meet. She encourages women to dream again and to follow God on a journey of faith.
Sample Interview Questions:
• Why are women so taken with EAT PRAY LOVE and what 'wrong road' will that lead them on?
• What are you hoping women will learn from EAT LOVE PRAISE HIM?
• Explain the premise of your subtitle: Unpacking your Dreams on a Journey of Faith.
• Tell us about your journey of faith.
• How does your emphasis on the importance of a journey of faith also take you on a different path concerning love and food?
• You plan to lead a trip to Israel in the future. What is the goal of this trip?
JACKIE ARNOLD’s experience with travel, food, and faith makes her a lively and entertaining guest. Her heart is to help women more fully live out their faith. She has worked in newspaper, radio, marketing and currently, as a freelance writer. She hopes to have an interested publisher who will commit to publish her book EAT LOVE PRAISE HIM by Spring 2011.
